How long is the Helford River Cruise?

The cruise lasts approximately one and a half hours.

What time does the Helford River Cruise depart?

The cruise departure time changes from day to day depending on what time the high tide is.  Please contact us for times for specific days.

How much is the Helford River Cruise?

The cruise costs £20 per person or you can have a private charter for £200 which is for a maximum of 12 passengers.  If you would like to enjoy the Helford River in class we also have the Champagne Cruise which is for a private charter including 2 bottles of champagne and nibbles (maximum of 12 people).

How can I pay for the Helford River Cruise?

You can pay for your place on the cruise or private charter via our website shop: http://helfordrivercruises.co.uk/shop/ 

Please pay for your tour or private charter after you have received your confirmation email or letter.  We also accept cash on the day but please have the correct amount with you as our Boatman does not carry change with him.

What is the name of the boat?

The boats name is Hannahmolly named after the two daughters of owner of the Budock Vean Hotel.

Who will be our skipper for the cruise?

Your skipper for the day will either be Hetty, Tom or Dan.  They will be at the foreshore ready to welcome you on board.

Can I bring a picnic and refreshments with me?

Absolutely! but be aware that the boat can roll a little so careful with hot liquids.

Can I privately charter the Hannahmolly with a boatman?

Yes you can and private charter costs £200 for one and a half hours for a maximum of 12 passengers.

What is the maximum capacity of the Hannahmolly?

The Hannahmolly is licensed to take a maximum of 12 people on the Helford River Cruise.

What clothing should I bring on the Helford River Cruise?

The weather in Cornwall can be changeable so be prepared.  There is often a cool breeze on the Helford River so an extra layer and a rain jacket would be advised.

Can I bring my dog with me on the boat?

Unfortunately we do not allow dogs on the cruise unless it is on a Private Charter or Champagne Cruise.

Where do you launch from?

Trips leave from the Budock Vean Hotel foreshore which is a beautiful short walk from main hotel through their award winning gardens.  Their address is Budock Vean Hotel, Helford Passage, Mawnan Smith, Nr Falmouth, Cornwall, TR11 5LG.

Is there car parking near by?

Yes and it is free.  Please park in the hotel car-park next to the tennis courts.

Is it the same price for children and adults? 

Yes we are only licensed to take up to 12 people on the cruise and so we charge per space. We do offer free parking though and a lovely stroll to the foreshore and so stress free! 

Can you buy food at the hotel? 

Yes the hotel welcome non residents. You can book for breakfast 8-10am, dinner 7-9pm on 01326 250288. Lunches are served 12-2pm, cream teas 3-5pm, bar meals 7-9pm and non need for booking. 

Can I book a buggy to the foreshore if I struggle with walking? 

Yes the hotel porter works from 9am – 5pm and you can book this for a fee with the hotel reception on 01326 250288. Cruises departing or arriving after 5pm please make us aware at the time of booking and we can arrange to take our car to the foreshore to drive the person up to the hotel. If you don’t want to pay there are some lovely benches on the way to the foreshore and back and many enjoy the gentle stroll through the gardens before and after the cruise.
